Such a powerful take. What would happen if every foundation committed to a 10% draw down for the next five years? If it feels scary, they could continue current ways for the first 5% and use the next 5% for true trust-based philanthropy. That’s world changing.

WORLD-changing, yes! I agree!

And for those who are even MORE committed to a different world (since clearly the status quo is becoming more and more dangerous by the day)… they could give even MORE than 10%.

One of the things I’ve been saying, for those who are worried about perpetuity (which @Glen Galaich has said is not something foundations were ever supposed to be bound by) is look at MacKenzie Scott’s giving! She is giving out BILLIONS every year… and, according to reports, her fortune has not decreased… but INCREASED!

Wow. What a great contrast to communicate! I am still in awe thinking about what you all did in Minnesota! 5% is insane! They should always to looking at how to deploy their assets quickly and effectively and FULLY!

I couldn't agree more, Debbie. And thanks so much for the comment and support!
