Today — the day after an election that consumed and drained many of us — is a day for re-grounding…. deep breathing… re-connecting… relaxing.
Click on the image above, or here, to soak in (for hours, if you like!) the sound of the ocean, waves flowing in and out.
The Earth continues its rhythms today.
The ocean keeps breathing — in and out, in and out.
The sun rose this morning… and it will set again tonight.
We, too, are still here breathing…
… in…
… and a long out-breath…
… in…
… and another long out-breath…
… and…
… keep up that rhythm, today.
Those long out-breaths are pretty magic for us and our nervous systems.
We breathe amidst anger….
We breathe amidst despair….
We breathe amidst sadness….
We breathe amidst every other thing we may be feeling.
We feel the feelings.
And we keep breathing…
… with looooooong out-breaths.
We watch the feelings pass through our atmosphere like weather, like a cold or warm front…
… and we keep breathing.
Finally, I’ll leave you with this question from a brilliant light:
What if this darkness is not the darkness of the tomb… but the darkness of the womb?
